Not another marathon training blog. Promise.
Welcome! I ran my first marathon four months after my mother died from cancer. I have learned the most painful and beautiful truths since losing her. Thank you for letting me share them.

And so it begins.

Hello everybody! Hope your summers have left you refreshed and satisfied.

I've been in denial about the end of summer despite the darker mornings, weakening sun, and brisk evenings. But my acceptance of the changing seasons came today in the form of another successful registration for the Boston Marathon! My 2011 time of 3:17:08 allowed me the privilege of securing a coveted spot in the 2012 Boston Marathon without issue this morning. Huge improvement over the mayhem of last year's registration.

I'm looking forward to another unique journey down the long road to Copley Square as I run to honor the memory of my mother. Thanks for joining me.
